Setting up a story in Admin

1. Visit http://www.newsy.com/admin and login with your email address and password.
2. Click "Add New Video"
3. Enter the Headline
4. Copy and paste your script into the Transcript area
5. Use the filler image (available on all desktops) as a placeholder until you have a thumbnail image
6. Immediately save and re-open
7. Remove all script and element tages (SWV, AOC, etc.)
8. Remove all links
9. Bold all source quotes, both video and text
10. Link to each source in the AOC preceding the quote.

• Highlight the source in the AOC (Ex. ABC News).
• Click the link icon
• Copy and paste the source link into the box
• Click "Open in new window"

11. If the script opens with a video, link the source in parentheses after the quote.

• Example: "MIT researchers say there appears to be an area right behind the ear that responds to magnetic impulses.” (HLN)

12. Link the thumbnail image in parentheses before the script begins.

• Example: (Thumbnail image: Nature)

13. Add Tags
14. Add Summary
15. Add Sources by locating Source in the drop-down menu and pasting source URL into the box

• Tip: If you used a clip from Snapstream, link to the main page of the news outlet in the URL box.

16. Select Writer
17. Save
